Distressed shelf...is stressing me out!

Good Morning Everybody....well it is Saturday morning and it is -25 below up here in the frozen tundra!  We have a full day of hockey planned :)  As I was cleaning up the living room, I kept look at this distressed antique shelf I bought and an antique store...it was very reasonable ($40.00); but I am having a hard time figuring out what to do with it.  I need some help...Do you think it looks good as is, or is this distressed shelf stressing even you out?
